Curriculum Vitae
Matteo Monai was born in 1989. He obtained the master degree in Chemistry in 2013 at the University of Trieste, Italy.
In 2014 he began his Ph.D. at the University of Trieste on the project "Design of core-shell catalysts for catalytic methane combustion".

His skills comprise synthesis and characterication of inorganic nanostructures used as heterogeneous catalysts, with particular attention to processes involved in sustainable energy production and environment protection. He spent various periods in synchrotron facilities (SOLEIL, Elettra) for characterization of the catalysts he prepared.

Scientific Interests
- Synthesis of protected metallic nanoparticles and core-shell nanostructures
- Pd and Pt based catalysts for methane oxidation
- Water effect on methane oxidation
- Preparation of model core-shell based catalysts for XPS studies
